Proposition D
Proposition D implements nonpartisan municipal elections in St Louis City, for the offices of mayor, comptroller, president of the board of aldermen, and aldermanic seats, including an approval voting primary and a top-two general election runoff. St Louis voters overwhelmingly passed the proposition with 68% of the vote in November 2020.
Passage of Prop D helps ensure that election winners have a broad base of support and a mandate to govern by eliminating vote-splitting and spoiler effects.
