sue fothergill is a seasoned political and policy advocate having organized winning advocacy campaigns at the local, state and national level. For the last two decades, she has led campaigns that focus on improving equity and opportunity in public education including winning $1 billion investment in new school construction for Baltimore City public schools (which became a Harvard case study for successful grassroots organizing). sue played a key role in Maryland’s historic campaign to achieve systemic education reform, birth to college and career, with the passage of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. She is an experienced organizer, systems builder, keynote speaker, and trainer. sue has worked with thousands of community members, government actors, business leaders, educators, families, and young people around the country on advancing equity and opportunity and creating innovative solutions to entrenched problems. she looks forward to bringing her campaign and organizing experience to advancing democracy across the nation. sue graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Baltimore with a BA in Public Policy.
