ConnecticutNo Excuse Absentee Voting

Campaign Status: Active

The Policy

Question 1: No excuse absentee voting

Background

Currently, voters in Connecticut need an “excuse,” like a disability status or being out of town to be eligible to vote with an absentee ballot. These requirements represent additional hoops voters need to jump through in order to vote in a way that’s safe, secure, and convenient for them. We support policies that expand access and reduce barriers to the ballot, and this measure would do just that.

Who’s Involved?

The ACLU of Connecticut is leading the charge on the ground, with support from CT Project Action Fund and national groups like the National Vote at Home Institute.
