Amendment 6, a repeal of Public Campaign Financing

❌ Bad for voters: Public campaign financing reduces candidates’ reliance on wealthy donors, allowing them to focus on voters’ needs and promoting a fairer, more democratic process. Repealing this amendment would open the door for big money to corrupt Florida’s political process.

Florida is the only state with a public campaign financing program enshrined in the state constitution, and lawmakers in the state have been targeting it for years. The legislature referred a question to the ballot in 2010 to repeal the state’s public campaign financing program, which voters rejected. This year lawmakers brought it back, and voters once again voted to preserve this program.
