Sarah Burgess

Sarah is a seasoned development professional and fundraising analyst with over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector. Committed to fostering positive change and advancing social justice initiatives, Sarah turned to RepresentUs and the pro-democracy movement. Currently, she serves as the Development Operations Manager, where she supports major gift fundraising efforts with precision and innovation, enhancing program effectiveness and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Previously, Sarah advanced conservation priorities at The Nature Conservancy, specifically in and around the Great Lakes. She has also held pivotal roles at one of Michigan’s largest law firms, Warner Norcross + Judd, and at Michigan Works, aiding jobseekers and the unemployed to get the training and services they need to get back to work. Sarah is a graduate of Michigan State University (Go Green!) and lives at home with her spouse, Aaron, and their dog, Winston.
