January 21st is the fourth anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision. It gave corporations, unions and their Super PACs nearly unbridled political power and left everyday Americans out in the cold. That’s why we’re teaming up with our friends at Free Speech For People to support their constitutional amendment campaign.
There’s going to be a lot of news coverage about the anniversary, so let’s set the story straight now: Our movement is united in the fight against corruption.
We know this issue will never be solved unless we all work together to build a political movement strong enough to force politicians to enact sweeping reforms like these.
Passing an amendment would make it much easier to implement the reforms outlined in our anti-corruption policy platform, and passing these reforms would help set the table for overturning Citizens United. That’s why our campaigns need to work together, and that’s why we’re asking you to support our collaboration.
