“The people want a government that represents us, not big money and special interests. Americans want better candidates, and they want their voices heard in the halls of government. In states, counties, and cities across the nation, the people took matters into their own hands to enact bold, structural democracy reforms.”
“These are incredibly important victories, not just for the people where these reforms passed, but for everyone across the United States. The victories prove that when right and left unite, we have clear path forward to fix our corrupt political system.”
“The public is demanding elections free from big money and special interests. Voters want elections that don’t force them to pick the lesser of two evils. They want politicians to respond with real solutions. Until they do, the growing anti-corruption movement will keep fighting state by state to clean it up.”
“This is how we start fixing the corrupt political system. State by state, community by community, Americans are putting partisan differences aside and coming together to clean it up. The anti-corruption movement is winning and won’t stop until there are sweeping reform laws passed at all levels of government.”
“I voted yes on Measure 22 because it stops secret lobbyist gifts, makes political money transparent, makes it easier for voters to support the candidates we like, and puts in place a system to hold lobbyists and politicians accountable if they break the rules. This is a commonsense law that will go a long ways toward preventing corruption here in South Dakota.”
“Prop T will make San Francisco government more accountable to voters, not lobbyists. I’m thrilled it passed with 87% of the vote on Tuesday.”
“Resolution 16-18 asked Boone County voters whether we support reducing the corrupting influence of money on our political system, and we said yes. By passing Resolution 16-18, we sent a message loud and clear to Congress: no more big-money corruption.”
“Members of our RepresentUs chapter worked hard to pass Resolution 5234. We wanted to send a message to the political establishment in this country that enough is enough. No more secret money funding your campaigns. No more taking big donations from the special interests you’re supposed to regulate.”
“I voted yes on Constitutional Amendment 2 because it makes it harder for special interests to buy political access and power in our state. Under Constitution 2, lobbyists and big donors can’t flood our elections with secret money. Voters will finally know who’s trying to buy political power, so we can hold our politicians accountable.”
“I supported Question A for the Howard County Citizens’ Election Fund because policies should be shaped by the best ideas and the smartest research, not by the biggest donors. Question A will create a small-donor empowerment program that elevates the voices of everyday people.”
“By passing Measure X1, we are keeping big money out of local politics and giving voters a stronger voice.”
“Measure 26-184 cracks down on secret money by making political advertisements disclose their funders. It’s about time we knew who was flooding our airwaves with negative ads.”
